MISSION STATEMENT
At AZ Play Ball, our MISSION is to uphold PONY Baseball values by providing quality youth programs for children ages 8-19 in the Greater Phoenix and Scottsdale area.
Our goal is to help kids develop and improve the fundamental skills of baseball while fostering a positive, safe environment where we promote teamwork.

Did you know?
AZ Play Ball Pony Baseball is the largest competitive and developmental youth baseball league in Arizona serving the Scottsdale and Phoenix communities for youth from ages 8 to 19 years. Our high school division also provides players with an opportunity to play high school level baseball if they are not playing for their high school team. Our authentic MLB baseball rules are modified for youth, including leadoffs, base stealing, and pickoffs.
Develop your players
Most of our members are club/tournament teams which we serve by providing ways to further develop their players and programs. Central to our services, we arrange scheduling for consistent practice fields and for competitive games outside the tournament environment to deliver this opportunity. By doing so, we help teams advance their players to the next level, improve the skills of their lesser experienced players, and give all players “a safe place to fail“ which means that they can maximize their personal efforts without the concern of failure affecting their team’s tournament standing.
Our experience has shown that competitive non-tournament games and regular and consistent practice time for strengthening, conditioning, and skill development helps insure that players develop important physical and emotional disciplines that will serve them in the future on the baseball field as well as in life.
PONY baseball
The parent organization PONY Baseball is a national chartering organization established in 1951. The acronym “PONY” stands for PROTECT OUR NATIONS’ YOUTH.
AZPlayball PONY Baseball League is a separate 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been serving the valley’s youth since 1995 by upholding the PONY values of promoting teamwork, positive character building, good sportsmanship and friendly competition in all aspects of the game while developing the fundamental skills of baseball.
